Guidance for parents/carers in the case of bad weather

It is our policy to keep the academy open wherever possible. Please assume the academy is open unless you hear otherwise. The Department for Education recognises the delivery of education to pupils as an essential service, as do we.

If we do have to close, parents/carers will be informed in the following ways:

  • The academy website
  • By text/app message
  • The following radio stations: BBC Radio Leeds, Pulse Radio, Sunrise Radio & Fresh Radio
  • BBC Leeds & West Yorkshire website carries a list of closed schools – www.bbc.co.uk/bradford/

This situation is highly unlikely and will be avoided wherever possible. There is no need to contact the academy to check whether or not the academy is open. Unless announced as above, we are open.

It is important that we have up to date contact information so that we can keep in touch with you should we need to.  To inform us of a change of mobile number, please email us your name, mobile number, your child’s name and tutor group and we will update your details as soon as possible.
